CET is Commonly known as Common Eligibility Test (CET). It is proposed by the government going to conduct the CET exam from 2019 onwards. Various departments of government conducting various exams like Banking, Railways, SSC and more. Each department has their own syllabus and different exam pattern to shortlist the candidates. So the government proposed that to conduct CET for the preliminary level.

  • The Indian Govt. has come out with a proposal of conducting a Common Eligibility Test (CET) for different exams.
  • The Main purpose to conduct CET is to reduce the number of exams which is conducted by the Government.
  • According to this latest proposal, the CET will be a Primary Test for various departments in Indian Govt. exams.

  • Important Points About CET in Rajya Sabha Report:
  • The CET will be Conducted in three levels
  • Matriculation
  • Higher Secondary
  • Graduation
  • The Graduation Level CET will be conducted in 2019 which will be followed by the other two levels in Coming years.
  • The CET score will be valid 2 years.

    How to Register for CET:
  • Log on to the officail Website and Register with the all Required details.
  • After Registration you will get a registed number.
  • And keep it safe. It will be useful to file your application for CET.

  • CET Selection Procedure / Exam Pattern: This test is proposed to shortlist candidates for vacancies of Group ‘B’ and below level posts in the government jobs. Through this exercise, the entire recruitment system would be rebulid and rationalized in two definite stages.
    Tier-I (Preliminary Examination):
  • A Common Screening Test subsuming the Preliminary Tier-I Examinations conducted by all recruiting agencies of the Government of India, viz. SSC, Banking, Railways.

  • Tier-II (Preliminary Examination):
  • The main Examinations to be conducted independently by the concerned recruiting agencies

  • Advantages of CET
  • CET will reduce the number of exams conducted by various governament agencies and will save significant amount of money spent on conducting these examinations by different recruiting agencies.

  • The CET scores may be further used by State government in future if they desire to use it for short-listing candidates for employing them.
