  • The specification of a post is determined by the concerned Department with reference to both vertical and horizontal reservations as well as local reservation.
  • The reservations are specified through the indent by the concerned department and the general criteria with regard to reservations are given below.

  • Reservation to the Local candidates is applicable as provided in Article 371-D as per G.O.Ms.No.674, G.A (SPF- A) Department, dated.20.10.1975 and rules as amended from time to time and as in force on the date of notification.

  • The candidates claiming reservation as Local candidates should obtain the required Study Certificate(s) (from IV Class to X Class or SSC)(or) Residence Certificate in the proforma prescribed for those candidates who have not studied in any Educational Institutions as the case may be.

  • The relevant certificates with the authorized signature shall be produced as and when required.
A local candidate has been defined in G.O.Ms.No.674, General Administration (SPF-A) Department, dated:20.10.1975 LOCAL CANDIDATE" as follows:
Local Candidate:- A candidate for direct recruitment to any post shall be regarded as a local candidate in relation to a local area.
Considertaion of Minimum Educational Qualification
  • if he has studied in an educational institution or educational institutions in such local area for a period of not less than four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he appeared or, as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination;( or)
  • where during the whole or any part of the four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he appeared or as the case may be, first appeared for the relevant qualifying examination he has not studied in any educational institution, if he has resided in that local area for a period of not less than four years immediately preceding the date of commencement of the qualifying examination in which he appeared or as the case may be, first appeared.

Considertaion of Residence
  • In cases where no minimum educational qualification has been prescribed for recruitment to the post, if he has resided in that local area for a period of not less than four years immediately proceeding the date on which the post is notified for recruitment.

  • educational institution means a University or any educational institution recognized by the State Government, a University or other competent authority;
  • relevant qualifying examination in relation to a post means;

  • the examination, a pass in which is the minimum educational qualification prescribed for the post;

  • the Matriculation examination or an examination declared by the State Government to be equivalent to the Matriculation examination;
  • Candidates who migrate from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh between 2nd June, 2014 and 1st June, 2019 (in this case till date of notification) as per terms laid down in circular memo no.4136/SPF & MC/2015-5, Dated.20.11.2017 of Government of Andhra Pradesh shall obtain the Local Status Certificate from competent authority and produce at the time of verification.
