• Scotland Yard has launched an investigation after a gunshot was fired outside a mosque in east London during Ramzan prayers evening.

• Britain’s charity regulator opened a statutory inquiry in the activities and accounts of the Hindu Community Society, which seeks to advance Hindu religion with particular focus on the Tamil community with origins in Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.

• The first AH-64E Apache attack helicopter built for India was formally handed over to the Indian Air Force (IAF) at Boeing production facility in Mesa, Arizona in USA.

• Former Union Law Minister Ashwani Kumar said the Election Commission’s “failure” to address the Congress’s concerns over the personal attacks on the former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, dented its credibility.

• Syndicate Bank posted a net profit of ₹128.02 crore for the fourth quarter of 2018-19, with lower provisions and improvement in income.


• The lender made a net loss of ₹2,195.12 crore for the fourth quarter of 2017-18.


• The bank’s total income for the January to March 2019 quarter rose by 4.94 per cent to ₹6,345.22 crore, against ₹6,046 crore in the same period a year ago.

• The DRDO has maintained that the interceptor missile could have killed a satellite at a height of more than 1,000 km but India intentionally chose to demonstrate the capability in the low earth orbit at a range of less than 300 km to avoid the threat of collisions in space.


• The bulk of the debris from India’s March [latex]27^{th}[/latex] anti-satellite test has decayed and whatever is left will disintegrate shortly, Defence Research and Development Organisation chief G Satheesh Reddy said.
