TSPSC recruits forest officers for various positions in the forest department of Telangana state. The recruitment process involves written examination, walking and medical test. Aspirants can qualify in the written examination with an effective study plan and resources including syllabus details and reference books.     General Knowledge (Paper - I) General Mathematics (Paper - II)

The General Knowledge paper is divided into following topics.
✦ Current Affairs – Regional, National & International: For preparing current affairs, candidates must read at least one newspaper daily. Last 6-8 months questions on current affairs can be expected in the exam.
It is better if aspirants follow the official magazines of Telangana from past 6-8 months. These magazines cover all important information about Telangana Government.
While preparing for International current affairs, the focus must be on important international meetings happened in the recent past, places, and dates of such meeting etc.
✦ General Science: For General Science, aspirants can refer Telangana SCERT School textbooks from 6th 10th Class. These textbooks cover almost all important topics and basic information required for the exam.
Aspirants should mainly focus on India’s achievements in Science & Technology in various fields like Space, Missiles, Satellites and other inventions in India.
✦ Environmental Issues & Disaster Management: For Environmental Studies, aspirants can refer Telangana SCERT School textbooks from 6th 10th Class.
For Disaster Management, aspirants can refer the CBSE textbook on Disaster Management.
✦ Indian Economy: For Indian Economy concepts and basics, aspirants can refer the NCERT 11th Class Indian Economic Development textbook. This textbook covers all aspects of basics of Indian Economy.
In addition to this textbook, candidates must prepare the important points of Economic Survey of India for 2016 - 17 year for latest and updated statistics on Indian Economy.
✦ Telangana Economy: For this subject, aspirants can refer Telangana Socio-Economic Outlook 2017. This document covers all the important statistics and facts about Telangana Economy. It also covers various programs and schemes undertaken by the government of Telangana.
Candidates must also read the Telangana Budget Document for 2017-18.
✦ Indian Geography: For Indian Geography, aspirants can refer the NCERT or Indian Geography textbooks. While preparing for this subject, aspirants must focus on Soil types, Forest types, Mountains, Rivers and various land-forms in India.
Aspirants must also prepare on important points of Census 2011 like Population Growth Rate, Sex Ratio, Child Sex Ratio, Literacy Rate, etc. in India.
✦ Telangana Geography: For Telangana Geography, aspirants can refer to Telangana SCERT Social Studies Textbooks from 6th to 10th Class. Aspirants should focus on the different forest types, soil types, mountains, national parks, sanctuaries, important tourist places and other land-forms.
✦ Indian Polity & Constitution: For this subject, aspirants can refer to Telangana SCERT Social Studies Textbooks from 6th to 10th Class. In this subject, aspirants should focus more on important articles of the constitution, schedules, constitutional bodies, recent constitutional amendments, important constitutional cases.
Aspirants can also follow NCERT Polity Textbooks for this topic. They cover all important aspects of Indian Polity & Constitution required for this exam.
✦ Telangana History & Movement: For Telangana History & Movement, aspirants can refer Telugu Akademi’s Intermediate Telangana History textbook. This book also covers in brief about the Telangana movement for separate statehood. Aspirants should focus on reading about important people and their role in Telangana movement, organizations, newspapers, songs, books etc.
✦ Telangana Society, Arts, Culture, Literature & Heritage: For this topic, aspirants can read the Telugu subject textbooks of Telangana SCERT from 4th to 10th Class. These textbooks cover important information about Telangana Art, Culture, Literature, Heritage, and Society.
✦ Policies of Telangana State: In this topic, aspirants should be aware of all the schemes, programs, and policies of the Telangana State Government.
✦ Previous Question Papers: Practicing previous year’s exam question papers is a good step in preparing for any competitive exam. This paper is also qualifying in nature. Minimum qualifying marks in this paper for different categories of applicants are as shown:
    OCs – 40 Marks BCs – 35 Marks SCs & STs – 30 Marks

The General Mathematics paper covers 10th grade level mathematics as the syllabus. For mathematics paper, aspirants must follow mathematics textbooks of 6th to 10th-grade levels. The syllabus for General Mathematics paper is based on the following categories:
    Arithmetic Algebra Trigonometry Geometry Mensuration Statistics

Practicing 6th to 10th-grade mathematics textbooks are sufficient for clearing the General mathematics paper.
