IBPS SO Selection Process

shape Introduction

The IBPS SO Selection Process involves three phases: Preliminary Examination; Mains Examination and Interview. The preliminary examination would be held on 28.12.2019 and 29.12.2019. Candidates who will clear the prelims exam will proceed to the IBPS SO mains exam to be held on 25.01.2020. Candidates will have to qualify in the mains test to proceed to the final stage i.e. interview.

The different phases of the IBPS SO Selection Process 2019/20 are as described below:
For the Post of Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari
For the post of Law Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari, Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 125 marks will be conducted online. The test consist of 3 Sections with a duration of 40 minutes for each section.

For the Post of IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer
For the Post of IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer, Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 125 marks will be conducted online. The test consist of 3 Sections with a duration of 40 minutes for each section.

For the Post of Law Officer, IT Officer, Agriculture Field Officer, HR/Personnel Officer and Marketing Officer
Mains Examination will consist of Objective Test for 60 marks. This test would be of 45 minutes duration consisting of one Section as follows.

For the Post of Rajbhasha Adhikari
For the Post of Rajbhasha Adhikari, Mains Examination will consist of both Objective Test and Descriptive Test for 60 marks.This test would be of 60 minutes duration consisting of two Sections as follows. There is separate timing for each section.

  • Candidates who have been shortlisted in the main examination for CWE PO/MT-VIII will subsequently be called for an Interview where the candidate will be tested for personality traits, speaking skills, along with the verifications of the qualifications of the candidate to be conducted by the Participating Organizations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS.

  • Interviews will be conducted at select centres.

  • The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from authorized IBPS website.

Final Selection:
  • The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for the selection and only the marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II) will be added to the marks obtained in Interview (Phase-III) for the preparation of the final merit list.

  • The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately.

  • The minimum qualifying marks in the interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of CWE (Main exam) and interview will be 80:20 respectively.

  • The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination of CWE- SPL-VIII and Interview.

  • The selection will be made from the top merit ranked candidates in each category.

  • Results of the candidates who have qualified Interview and the list of candidates finally selected will be made available on the Bank’s website.

  • The final select list will be published in Employment News/ Rozgar Samachar and also in Bank’s website.

On completion of the interview process, depending on the vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2019-20 based on the business needs of the Participating Organisations and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Organisations. The provisional allotment shall be done on the basis of merit-cum-preference keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, various guidelines issued by Govt. of India/others from time to time, administrative exigency, etc.
