IELTS General Training Reading Test

Introduction

The IELTS Academic test is for the candidates applying for higher education or professional registration in an English speaking environment. It reflects some of the features of academic language and assesses whether he/she are ready to begin studying or training and is widely supported by the institutions that recognize IELTS.

Reading

The reading test is different for IELTS Academic and IELTS General

Each section contains one long text. Texts are from books, journals, magazines and newspapers.

IELTS General Training Reading Section - Features

The General Training Reading test takes 60 minutes.

There are 40 questions, divided into three sections, based on reading texts with a total word length of 2,150 to 2,375 words.
