Indian Bank PO Exam Pattern

Understanding the exam pattern and syllabus will help the candidates in devising effective preparation strategies. Speed/Time management is vital in obtaining a good score in any competitive exam and hence, analysis of exam pattern and syllabus is very crucial to be able to complete the exams in the stipulated time.
The Indian Bank PO selection process has three phases. The first two phases (Preliminary exam and Main exam) are written exams (conducted online). The third phase is an Interview.

Indian Bank PO Preliminary exam is an online exam, which consists of 3 sections as shown in the table below and has a total of 100 marks. The composite time for the prelim exam is 1 hour. The section-wise division of questions and marks is given below:

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and English Language (Letter Writing & Essay) for 25 marks. Both the Objective and English Languge will be online. Letter Writing and Essay will be administered immediately after completion of the Objective Test.

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the Main examination may subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Bank.
  • The total marks allotted for Interview are 100.

  • The minimum qualifying marks in the interview are 40% for General and 35% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD candidates.

  • The weightage (ratio) of the Main examination and interview will be 80:20 respectively.

  • The combined final score of candidates will be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the Main Examination and Interview.

All candidates called for the Interview should produce originals of all prescribed documents mentioned in the call letter. Those candidates who fail to produce prescribed originals of documents will not be allowed to participate in the interview.
