INTERPOL, The International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO-INTERPOL; French: Organisation internationale de police criminelle), is the world’s largest international police organization, with 181 member countries [ Based on 2018 Data]. INTERPOL, facilitates international police cooperation. Created in 1923, INTERPOL alleviates cross-border police co-operation, and supports and assists all organizations, authorities and services whose mission is to prevent or combat international crime. INTERPOL was initially established as the International Criminal Police Commission (ICPC) in 1923; it chose INTERPOL as its telegraphic address in 1946, and made it its common name in 1956. The primary role of INTERPOL is to enable police force around the world to work together to make the world a safer place. Interpol Member Countries lists the countries who are members of INTERPOL, whose motto is " Connecting Police for a safer world ".

INTERPOL aims to facilitate international police co-operation even where diplomatic relations do not exist between particular countries.INTERPOL ensures and promotes the widest possible mutual assistance between all criminal police authorities within the limits of existing laws in different countries and in the spirit of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. INTERPOL’s constitution prohibits any intervention or activities of a political, military, religious or racial character. The primary areas of focus of INTERPOL are: public safety and battling transnational crimes against humanity, child pornography, cyber crime, drug trafficking, environmental crime, genocide, human trafficking, illicit drug production,[8] copyright infringement, missing people, illicit traffic in works of art, intellectual property crime, money laundering, organized crime, corruption, terrorism, war crimes, weapons smuggling, and white-collar crime.
