The National Eligibility Entrance Test or NEET-UG is an entrance examination in India, for students who wish to study any graduate medical course (MBBS), dental course (BDS) or postgraduate course (MD/MS) in government or private medical colleges in India. NEET-UG (Undergraduate), for MBBS and BDS courses, are conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which also conducts NEET-SS in partnership with Prometric Testing Pvt Ltd headquartered in the USA.

1. What is the starting date of NEET Online Application Form? December 2, 2019

3. What is the application fee of NEET and what is the mode of payment? For the year 2020, NEET application fees has been increased for all categories. NEET 2020 application fees for general category is Rs. 1500, while that for SC/ST/PWD/transgender aspirants, it is Rs. 800. Candidates belonging to general-EWS and OBC-NCL have to pay Rs. 1400. The above mentioned amount of fees can be paid in online mode only through net banking, debit/credit cards and UPI using SBI/Syndicate bank/ICICI/HDFC and Paytm service provider.
4. Can I opt for Kannada if I am appearing for NEET in Delhi? No, the NEET question paper in Kannada will be made available only in Karnataka. If a candidate wishes to write in Kannada then they must opt for a test city in Karnataka. However, it is advised to opt for a NEET exam centre 2020 of which the candidates is a resident.
5. I have finished making payment but the final confirmation page is still not being displayed. What should I do? Aspirants are advised to wait for 24 hours. Take the print out of the confirmation page in the next 24 hours as there could be a delay in updation of fees on NIC server from the gateway payment. This updation is done within 24 hours maximum. Thereafter if the confirmation page is still not generated, pay the fees once again and take a printout of the confirmation page. The excess fee paid will be automatically refunded in the account from which application fee has been remitted. If the problem is still not resolved, contact the respective banks for further clarification.
6. While submitting my application form, my session is shown as expired before as I soon as I try to submit it. Thus, the form remains unfulfilled or unsubmitted. What can I do? It should be ensured that aspirants submits the application form within a maximum duration of 30 minutes. The session expires after this time. First, save one part of the form and save it as a draft. Save each part of the form similarly before beginning the new one. This way, none of the entered information will be lost even if the session expires. It must be ensured that candidates keep all the required information ready before commencing with the form.
7. At the time of clicking ‘Submit’ button after filling the application form, my session is shown as expired. Do I need to fill a fresh form? The application form must be filled within a duration of 30 minutes after which the session expires. Therefore, it is advisable that the candidate keep all the necessary documents handy before filling the application form. Candidates can also save each part of their application form as draft before beginning a new one. This way, none of the information entered in the application will be lost if the session expires. 8. How to get proof of fee payment made to NTA for NEET 2020? Once the confirmation page is generated, it means the fee payment has been successful. Further, in the lower portion of the confirmation page, details of the fee payment such as transaction ID are given which may be saved for future reference. No other receipt will be provided. 9. Do I need to upload a photograph with white background, name and date at the bottom? Answer: Earlier, it was mandatory to upload a passport picture with a white background and name and date at the bottom of the picture. Later, through an official notification the authority had announced that photographs without the name and date will also 10. Can I withdraw my NEET application form? Will I get a refund for it? Once the application form has been submitted, it cannot be withdrawn or cancelled. The application fee of NEET 2020 is non-refundable.
1. What is the basic eligibility criteria of NEET 2020? Candidates who wish to appear for NEET 2020 must ensure that they fulfil the eligibility criteria laid down by the exam conducting authority. Following is the NEET eligibility criteria: Aspirants must have attained the age of 17 years as on December 31, 2020, will be eligible to take NTA NEET 2020. Students born on or before December 31, 2002 are also considered eligible for the national examination. Candidates must have completed their Class 12 or equivalent from a recognized central or state board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as the core subjects. The qualifying marks for general category applicants is 50%, while for SC/ST/OBC, it is 40%. Candidates who belong to NRIs, OCIs, PIOs and Foreign nationals category can also apply for NEET-UG.
2. I have a gap year between Class 11 and Class 12. Am I eligible to appear for NEET 2020?? Yes, candidates with a gap year between Class 11 and Class 12 will be eligible for NEET UG 2020. An amendment of the Medical Council of India (MCI) specified that a student must undergo continuous two years of study to become eligible to take NEET. However, this amendment was revoked by Delhi High Court and aspirants with a year gap can appear for NEET 2020.
3. Can I appear for NEET 2020 even if I am older than 25 years? The upper age limit to appear for NEET 2020 has been removed by the competent authority. Candidates must have attained the age of 17 years but there is no upper age limit to sit for the entrance test, provided all other eligibility criteria are met.
4. I have studied in Oriya medium school. Can I write the test in Oriya? NEET 2020 will be available in 9 different languages other than English and Hindi. Candidates who wish to write the test in Oriya can fill the language option in NEET application form 2020.
5. Is a candidate who has completed Class 11 and Class 12 from an open school eligible to apply for NEET 2020? Candidates who have passed Class 12 from open school or as private candidates will not be eligible to appear for the entrance test. Furthermore, the Biology/Biotechnology as an additional subject at Class 12 level also will not be permissible.
1. Which details can we edit with correction window facility? After the conclusion of the last date to fill the NEET application form, NTA will provide a correction window facility through which certain fields can be edited. Candidates must note that not all details can be edited from the application form NEET 2020. Details like personal information, place of birth, the medium of question paper, choice of NEET exam cities, academic details, address, parent’s name can be edited.
2. Can I edit my Class 12 qualifying code in the NEET application form? Yes, you can change the Class 12 qualifying code in NEET application form 2020. Candidates will have to use their login credentials to correct such details.
3. Will I be able to change my photograph through the correction window facility? Candidates who have uploaded an erroneous image at the time of filling the NEET application form 2020 will be intimated via email to upload the correct image as per the guidelines laid down by NTA. Candidates will have to upload the image within the stipulated time period. By entering the login credentials, candidates will be able to upload the passport size photo.
4. I have put an image without a name and white background, will my application be rejected? The authority has issued a notice that photograph without name, date or white background will not be rejected.
5. Can I change my address in the application form? Candidates can edit the address in their application form using the NEET correction window facility. To change the address in the NEET application, candidates need to use their login credentials and make changes in the address field.
6. Can I change the option of language once the form is submitted? Option once exercised, cannot be changed after submission of application form as centres will be allotted based on medium of question paper. Candidates need to be very careful in choosing the medium of question paper.
1. What is the mode of the exam? The examination will be conducted through offline mode (pen and paper based). Candidates have to mark their answers in OMR answer sheet.
2. How many questions will be asked in NEET Exam? It will contain only one question paper which comprises of 180 questions.
3. Which type of questions will be asked in NEET Exam? Questions will be objective type. Each question will contain four optional answers; students are required to mark the correct answer only.
4. How much time will I be given to complete the exam? The exam duration will be three hours (10:00 AM to 1:00 PM).
How many questions from Physics will be asked in the exam? NEET has 4 sections, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Each of these sections will have 45 questions each. So, Physics will have 45 questions.
5. Are there any sectional time limits in NEET? No, there are no such sectional limits in NEET. You can spend any amount of time (from total time given) on any particular section or question.
1. What is the syllabus for the NEET 2020? NEET 2020 is the combination of subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
1. What are the total marks in NEET exam? Each question in NEET will have 4 marks. Therefore, maximum marks in the exam are 720.
2. Is there any negative marking for incorrect questions in NEET? Yes, for each incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted from your total score.
3. Is there any negative marking for un-attempted questions? No, there is no negative marking for leaving or skipping any question.
1. What if I opt for English medium and I am unable to understand a question in the exam? Will I be given a translated version of such questions? If someone opts for English medium, the test booklet will be provided in English only. Therefore, if you are facing any problem with the meaning of question, translated version of such question will not be provided. However, If a candidate opts for any other medium than English, then he/she will be provided the booklet in both English and the language chosen by candidate.
2. I opted for Hindi medium, but the translation of a question is not done properly (into English). What will be done in this situation? In a situation where there is any ambiguity in the translation of any question, the English version of it will be considered final and correct.
1. Which photo will be asked to furnish during the examination? The photograph which has been used while filling the application form and the same which has been uploaded on your admit card. The specifications of passport size photograph must be affixed is mentioned above.
2. What is the Entry time at the Examination Hall? Answer: The entry will be allowed from 12:00 P.M. However, no one will be allowed to enter in the centre after 01:30 P.M.
3. What should I do a day before the NEET examination? The answer to this question is nothing. Following are the tips which will help you a day before the exam: Do nothing and try not to panic. One can also take the help of meditation to get relaxed. And try to speak about your anxiety without panicking to your parents or the concerned elders. Later in the evening or afternoon (if not tired), they can go through some previous years question papers, but don’t try to solve it. Students must stay positive. Thinking negative and try to panic before the D-day is natural, but the way to deal with it will make you a game-changer. Take sleep of 7-8 hours
4. Which dress code should be followed while appearing for NEET 2020? To follow the NEET dress code 2020 correctly, it is mandatory for aspirants to check the following details:
Dress code for male aspirants: Male candidates must make sure they wear half-sleeves shirt/t-shirts during the examination. The full sleeves shirts are not allowed. Last year, the authority had mentioned that the clothes should be light which meant that zips, pockets, big buttons and elaborate embroidery should be avoided. Boys should not wear kurta-pyjamas, instead of that, they can prefer trousers on the D-day. Shoes are also not allowed, therefore, they can wear slippers and sandals
Dress code of female candidates: Female aspirants should avoid wearing clothes with more embroidery, flowers, brooches and buttons. The clothes should be light and half-sleeves For footwear, girls must wear slippers and sandals with low heels. Shoes are strictly prohibited in the examination hall. Females are advised not to wear jewellery like earrings, rings, pendants, nose ring, necklace or any other ornaments at the time of examination.
Customary dresses The customary dresses refers to a traditional dresses or an attire pertaining to a specific religion. Burqa and head scarves will be included in this. As per the order of Delhi High Court last year, Sikh aspirants were allowed to carry Kangha, Kara and Kirpan with them inside the examination hall. Such articles will be considered as the customary articles. While filling the application form of NEET 2020, candidates will be asked whether they are intended to wear such customary dresses or any other clothing which is contrary to the dress code.
1. Will bonus marks be given to the controversial questions in NEET 2020, even after the release of official answer key? NEET has always been surrounded with a lot of controversies. Eventually, the controversies regarding the wrong questions and bonus marks depends upon the challenges made by aspirants.After the publication of official NEET answer key 2020, candidates will be given an opportunity to challenge the official answer key of NEET 2020, in case if they found any error in it.
2. Is there any provision to challenge the response(s) against the OMR grading? Yes, aspirants will be given opportunity to challenge the responses sheet and answer key of NEET UG 2020. A brief description on how to challenge the answer key has been mentioned below. Candidates can challenge the official answer key and OMR sheet on the payment of non-refundable processing fees of Rs. 1000 per challenge. The challenges made by the aspirants will be verified by NTA with the help of subject experts. If the challenged answer is found correct, the answer key will be revised accordingly. Based on the revised answer key, the result will be prepared and declared. No individual candidate will be informed about the acceptance/non-acceptance of his/her challenge.
1. Will NTA release the state merit list along with NEET result 2020? No, the state merit list will not be published along with NEET result. National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the result for all candidates who took the test. Aspirants selected under 15% All India Quota scheme will be eligible to participate for counselling procedure. For admission to 85% state quota seats, the state counselling authorities will use the NEET scores to prepare the state merit list. Based on the merit rank included in the state rank list, the admission will be granted to government and private medical colleges/institutions.
2. What is the meaning of percentile rank? Answer: A percentile rank is the percentage of score that falls below a given score in a group. The Percentile score of a Candidate will be calculated as follows: 100 x Number of candidates appeared with raw score equal to or less than the candidate Total number of candidates appeared
3. My marks in NEET result 2020 is low as per the competition. I am not ready to drop a year, again. What should I do now? In this case, aspirants need not worry and instead wait for the state merit list. However, aspirants must apply for 85% state quota seats if they are the domicile of that particular state. It will also be suggested for aspirants to drop a year and try to score well while attempting the mock test. Dropping a decision will be hard decision but maintaining a score more than 580+ during the preparations or taking the mock tests, will assist students to score good in the exam.
4. What is the difference between NEET score card and NEET rank letter 2020? NEET score card is the result of individual candidate which will be displayed on the official website on June 4, 2020. Aspirant’s name, percentile scores, category, All India Rank, category rank and NEET cut off 2020 marks will be available. While, the rank letter of NEET UG 2019 will be available through the digilocker. Aspirants who will be included in the 15% All India Quota category seat allotment process will be eligible to download the rank letter. It will contain 15% AIQ merit rank, category-wise rank, total and subject-wise scores of candidates.
5. How will the NEET 2020 cut off will be determined and what will be the expected cut off for the year 2020? The cut off of NEET UG 2020 will be made available along with the result. However, based on the following factors, the cut off will be determined:All candidates applying for NEET will have to pay the prescribed application fee at the time of filling the form. General category candidates Rs 1,400 while and candidates belonging to reserved category candidates will have to pay Rs 750. Candidates can pay the application fee through Credit/Debit card or through internet banking. One can also pay through e-wallets or UPI methods.
