Simplification Quiz 6

shape Introduction

What is Quantitative Aptitude test? Quantitative Aptitude is one of the prominent competitive aptitude subjects which evaluates numerical ability and problem solving skills of candidates. This test forms the major part of a number of important entrance and recruitment exams for different fields. The Quantitative Aptitude section primarily has questions related to the Simplification, Numbering Series, and Compound Interest, etc.
What is Simplification? Simplification is the most widely asked topic in almost every competitive exam. Simplification is based on basic math calculations and some other algebraic topics. Simplification is less time consuming and having higher accuracy.
Simplification Problems is based on BODMAS rule, where
    B → Brackets,
    O → Of,
    D → Division,
    M → Multiplication,
    A → Addition, and
    S → Subtraction.

BODMAS Rule: BODMAS is about simplifying an expression by firstly removing the brackets in the order i.e. (), {}, []. Removal of brackets is followed by addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, square roots, cube roots, powers, cancellation of numerator/ denominator and so on. The article Simplification Quiz 6 provides Quantitative Aptitude questions with answers useful to the candidates preparing for Competitive exams, Entrance exams, Interviews etc.

shape Q1

31.87 + 14.99 – 21.40 + 20.32 ÷ 4.99 = ?
    A. 30 B. 22 C. 28 D. 33

= 31.87 + 14.99 – 21.40 + 20.32 ÷ 4.99
= 32 + 15 – 21 + 20 ÷ 5
= 47 – 21 + 4
= 30

shape Q2

64.01 ÷ 3.99 × 5 – 320 ÷ 7.99 = ?
    A. 60 B. 70 C. 40 D. 25

= 64.01 ÷ 3.99 × 5 – 320 ÷ 7.99
= 64 ÷ 4 × 5 – 320 ÷ 8
= 16 × 5 – 40
= 80 – 40
= 40

shape Q3

3.99 × 35.84 – 11.01 + 11.90 = ?
    A. 160 B. 175 C. 132 D. 145

= 3.99 × 35.84 – 11.01 + 11.90
= 4 × 36 – 11 + 12
= 144 – 11 + 12
= 145

shape Q4

Simplify the following. 50% OF X + 70% OF 180 = 150
    A. 84 B. 76 C. 48 D. 74

50% of x + 70% of 180 = 150
[latex] \frac {x \times 50}{100} + \frac {180 \times 70}{100} = 150[/latex]
[latex]\frac {x}{2}[/latex] + 126 = 150
[latex]\frac {x}{2}[/latex] = 150 - 126
x = 48

shape Q5

The product of two positive integers is 2048 and one of them is twice the other. Then the small of the number is
    A. 32 B. 64 C. 16 D. 1024

Let x be the first integer, then
Second integer = 2x
According to questions,
[latex]2X \times X = 2048[/latex]
[latex]2 {X}^{2} = 2048[/latex]
[latex]{X}^{2} = \frac {2048}{2}[/latex]
[latex]{X}^{2} = 1024[/latex]
x = 32
Thus, the small integer is 32.
