The Engineering Community across India celebrates Engineers Day on 15 September every year as a tribute to the greatest Indian Engineer Bharat Ratna Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. Sir Mokshagundam Vishweshvaraya KCIE, FASc is popularly known as Sir MV was an Indian engineer, scholar, statesman, and the [latex]{19}^{th}[/latex] Diwan of Mysore, who served from 1912 to 1919. He received India's highest honor, the Bharat Ratna, in 1955.
