Section Wise SSC CPO Preparation Tips:

Important Topics for English Language: Reading Comprehension (including questions on antonym and synonyms), Cloze Test, Sentence Improvement, Para Jumbles/ Sentence rearrangements, Spotting Errors, Double Fillers (Sentence Completion), Idioms and Phrases, Phrase Replacement, Irrelevant Statements
  • Improve reading skills. Read English newspaper daily.

  • If you are good at vocabulary and reading then attempt the reading comprehension first and proceed with Cloze Test and other miscellaneous topics like Error Detection, Para Jumbles, Phrase Replacement, Double Fillers, etc.

  • But if you are good at grammar, attempt Reading Comprehension in the end.

  • The Reading comprehension too should be attempted in a way that you attempt questions based on vocab and phrases first and then the questions that need a deep penetration through the paragraphs.

  • The important topics for cloze test are subject-verb agreement, preposition, and verbs.

  • These topics may help you with some other questions too that will be based on grammar. So, make sure that you have these topics at your fingertips when you are to attempt the examination. This section should be finished within a time limit of 20 minutes.

  • Improve your vocabulary by learning a new word daily.
Important Topics for Reasoning Ability: Analogy, Classification, Series, Coding, Decoding, Blood relations, Ordering and Ranking, Alphabet and Word test, Direction and Distance, Venn Diagram, Missing Number, Puzzles and Data Sufficiency.

  • Matrix, Jumbled words, sequence & word formation, are some topics that will be asked in Alphabet and Word test section. You need to be prepared to answer 4-5 questions from this topic.
Important Topics for General Awareness: History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research etc.
