What is BITSAT? BITSAT (Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test) is a computer-based online examination for the purpose of admission into integrated degree courses of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (Pilani).
When was it established? BITS was established in 1964 and transformed from a regional engineering college to a national level university. The current format of BITSAT started in 2005.

BITSAT Preparation Tips - What is the Eligibility for BITSAT? Age: There is no age limit for the BITSAT exam.
Qualification: Candidates need to have passed their [latex]{12}{th}[/latex] or equivalent exam from a recognized State/Central board or its equivalent with
Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics as subjects and adequate proficiency in the English language.
Passing Status: Aspirants who are pursuing their 10+2 or equivalent exam are eligible. If an aspirant has taken more than one chance to pass his/her exam, in that case, his/her last result will be considered.
Direct Admission: Aspirants who have obtained [latex]{1}{st}[/latex] rank in their respective Central and State boards in India for that given year will be a given a chance to take direct admission to the program of their choice, irrespective of their BITSAT scores.

BITSAT Preparation Tips - What are the key things to keep in mind regarding BITSAT exam?

  • BITSAT is an online format exam, which means it will be conducted on an online mode on a computer.
  • Aspirant can change their answers anytime if they changed their mind about a particular question.
  • Individual sections have no set time limit to them.
  • If aspirants manage to complete 150 questions with given 3 hours, they will get to answer 12 additional questions.
  • An aspirant can’t go back to original 150 questions, once they opt for additional 12 questions.
  • The result can be checked online on the very next day.
  • Each question has only one correct answer.
  • No extra time will be allotted to any aspirant.
  • Aspirant can’t bring any electronic device inside the examination center.

    A. Always start with the section you are most confident about. This saves time. B. Try not to spend too much time on a particular question. If a question is taking too much time, leave it unanswered and move on to the next question. C. Try to solve the questions as fast as possible without rushing your mind. D. Try to solve samples papers, a few days prior to the exam to see where you stand. E. Try to learn some simple shortcuts for mathematical problems. F. Read the questions twice before you start solving it. G. Keep track of time carefully.
Each section has few very important topics, these topics have more weightage as compared to others. Aspirants should focus more on these topics to improve his or her chances to crack the BITSAT exam.
Physics:
  • Aspirants should focus on topics like Heat & Thermodynamics and magnetic effect of current & magnetism, as each of these topics offers 10% marks individually.
  • Wave Motion and Current Electricity are also important.

Chemistry:
  • Chemical bonding is the single most important topic in chemistry section as it weighs around 10% marks of total marks.
  • Mole concepts, p-block elements, and atomic structure contribute 6% each to the 120 marks allotted to chemistry.

Mathematics:
  • The chapter of Circles is very important for the exam as it weighs around 12% of the total 135 marks in mathematics.
  • Straight lines and pair of straight lines are also very important as these topics weigh around 7% each.
