NEET UG 2020 is all set to be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on September 13, 2020 . Candidates those who have applied for the NEET UG test must pay attention to the NEET 2020 exam day instructions and safety guidelines issued by NTA to avoid any last-minute mistakes or confusion.
NTA has released NEET UG 2020 exam day instructions and guidelines along with NEET UG admit card 2020. Owing to the COVID-19 outbreak, the authorities have released protocols which are to be followed strictly by all candidates. NTA also emphasized on the ‘Advisory regarding COVID-19’ which has been drafted on the basis of the guidelines suggested by the Ministry of Education (MoE), formerly known as the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD).
NTA is conducting the NEET exam on September 13, 2020. From this academic year, the NEET UG exam will serve as the single entrance test for admission to all MBBS and BDS colleges in India including AIIMS MBBS Admission and JIPMER MBBS Admission 2020.

NEET 2020 COVID-19 Safety Guidelines - Items to Carry on NEET 2020 Exam Day
To maintain the sanctity of the NEET exam authorities are very strict about what to carry on NEET 2020 exam day. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, there are some additional items students will have to carry on the NEET exam day. The list of items that one is allowed to carry on the NEET exam day is given below:
1. On the NEET 2020, exam day candidates will have to carry masks, hand gloves, and sanitizers (50 ml) and water in transparent bottles. It is mandatory for students to wear masks during the exam.
2. NEET Admit Card: All pages of the NEET 2020 admit card clearly printed on A4 size sheets
3. Valid Photo ID proof.
4. Copy of same photograph that was used in application form to paste on attendance sheet.
5. PwD certificate where applicable.
6. Documents related to scribes where applicable: Candidates requiring scribes will be required to bring relevant documents. The scribe must also fill and bring their own self-declaration form / undertaking / proforma for NEET 2020.

Items Banned Inside The Examination Hall
National Testing Agency (NTA) has barred various items for NEET 2020 exam as many cheating cases were reported in the past. Check out the list of barred items in the NEET exam:
  • Any kind of stationery item such as pencil box/geometry box, plastic pouch, calculator, pen/scanner, etc is barred in the NEET exam.
  • Electronic items such as Bluetooth, microphone, headphone, microphone.
  • Candidates are not allowed to wear wristwatch, bracelets, ornaments, caps, wallets, handbags.
  • Eatable items such as chips, chocolates, water bottles are not allowed in the NEET exam.

NEET 2020 COVID-19 Safety Guidelines - Inside The Examination Hall
The NEET 2020 exam day guidelines for exam hall are listed below. There are several Do's and Dont's when it comes to the NEET entrance exam and the authorities are very strict regarding the same. Therefore, it is advised that you know about exam day guidelines of the entrance test:
  • The NEET exam centers will be opened 45 before the official exam time. To avoid any last-minute confusion, it is best to reach the exam centers for at least one hour before the commencement of the exam.

  • No digital or textual material is allowed inside the NEET exam hall. Those found doing the same will be debarred from appearing in the NEET exam permanently.

  • Only Admit Card will be allowed inside the exam hall.

  • The invigilator will announce time during the beginning of the exam, in half time, and at the end of the exam.

  • To fill the information on the test booklet, candidates will be given the booklet at 1:45 pm at (15 minutes ahead of the examination)

  • It is mandatory to sign the answer sheet once at the beginning of the NEET 2020 exam and then after the conclusion of the exam.

  • To write the NEET exam, candidates will be provided with a ballpoint pen in the exam hall itself.

  • Candidates are required to give their finger impressions on the attendance sheet of the exam.

  • To check the number of pages in the test booklet, candidates will be given five minutes to open the seat.

  • On the completion of NEET 2020 exam candidates will be allowed to move out in an orderly manner - one candidate at a time.

  • The gloves and masks should be disposed of in a pedal push covered bin at the examination center and outside the examination room/hall only.

    How to fill Self Declaration form for NEET 2020: The self declaration form is related to measures to content the spread of COVID-19. The form is attached to the admit card must be downloaded and printed. If a scribe is involved, they will have to bring their own undertaking. Also called an “Undertaking”, it included the following points:
  • Before reaching the NEET exam hall, fill in the required information in the self-declaration form / undertaking / proforma in NEET 2020 admit card.

  • Paste Photograph.

  • Put left-hand thumb impression and make sure it is not smudged.

  • Parent’s Signature.

  • On the day of the exam, candidates have to sign the declaration in the presence of the invigilator.

    Dress code for NEET 2020 for Boys/Males:
  • As per the COVID 19 safety guidelines, candidates must wear a mask and gloves.

  • Candidates are allowed to wear slippers and sandals with low heels.

  • Closed footwear is not permitted as per the dress code for NEET 2020.

  • Shoes or footwear with thick soles and garments with large buttons are NOT permitted.

  • Male candidates should ensure that they wear half sleeve shirts/T-shirts as full sleeve shirts are not allowed on the day of the examination.

  • Trousers and simple pants are a preferred NEET dress code 2020 for male candidates.Jeans with big pockets and fashionable will generally not be allowed for males/females. Kurta pajama is not allowed.

  • Clothes worn by male candidates should be light ie., zip pockets, pockets, big buttons and clothes with elaborate embroidery should not be there.

  • NEET aspirants, who wear specific attire for religious or customary reasons must report to the exam centers early for mandatory frisking.

  • Dress code for NEET 2020 for Girls/Females:
  • As per the COVID 19 safety guidelines, candidates must wear a mask and gloves.

  • Candidates are allowed to wear slippers and sandals with low heels.

  • Closed footwear is not permitted as per the dress code for NEET 2020.

  • Shoes or footwear with thick soles and garments with large buttons are NOT permitted.

  • Female candidates are advised not to wear clothes that have elaborate embroidery, flowers, brooches, or buttons as this is prohibited in the NEET dress code for female 2020 specified by NTA.

  • No clothes with full arm length sleeves should be worn on the day of examination. Following the dress code of NEET 2020, female candidates should wear half sleeve clothes.

  • Jeans with big pockets and fashionable will generally not be allowed for females as per the NTA NEET dress code. So, female aspirants, are advised to avoid wearing jeans on NEET 2020 exam day.

  • Female candidates must avoid wearing any kind of jewelry like earrings, nose rings, rings, pendants, necklaces, bracelet or anklets. Metal detectors may cause unnecessary hassle if the metal is found on the person.

    NEET 2020 General Instructions
    Some of the general instructions pertaining to the NEET 2020 exams can be checked below. These general instructions regarding the exam will help you to well prepared in advance:
  • During the NEET exam, candidates will be given their own seat with a roll number.

  • Candidates must enter the exam center by 1:30 pm as it is the last reporting time. After 1:30 PM no candidate will be allowed to enter the exam hall.

  • Candidates must not carry any of the barred items mentioned above.

  • One cannot leave the exam center before the exam concludes. OMR sheet has to handed over to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.

  • Candidates must ensure that the test booklet contains the same number pages as mentioned on the cover of the booklet. In case, there are fewer or more pages it is advised to speak to the invigilator immediately.

  • Due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, it is mandatory for the applicants to wear masks.
